Full description
Get ready to visit one of the most active volcanoes in the world by climbing up to 3000 meters of altitude. You will board an off-road vehicle and then continue by cable car reaching 2500 meters, the tour will continue with the special vehicles Unimog up to the closest area around the summit active craters at about 2920 meters.
From here you have a first fascinating view of the true volcanic landscape of Etna with its active smoky craters on one side and the splendid view over the entire Ionian coast on the other. You will have the opportunity to explore this area of the volcano with an expert guide at your side, who will get you through a path that follows the craters formed during the eruptions of the years 2002-2003.
After about 40 minutes of walking on the top of the crater, the guide will hike with you on a fun downhill on volcanic ashes to reach other craters and the great caldera called “Valle del Bove”, the huge depression where most of the lava flows converge.
At the end of the route, about 3 km, we will take the cable car back down and finish this splendid experience with an unforgettable adventure inside a real lava cave.
