A full day tour together with our expert guide who will take you to unexplored areas all not accessible by car. Walk over old lava flow, visit a lava cave and the impressive caldera “Valle del Bove”. If you are a hike lover and you love mountains, this is the excursion that is right for you. It is a sporty hike and therefore not indicated for people who are not trained.

This extraordinary hiking tour starts in the morning, you choose whether to meet us at the starting point or to our meeting point or to take advantage of the pick-up / drop-off service from your accommodation (we serve the areas between Catania and Taormina).
The journey begins with our 4WD vehicles in the direction of the volcano. In addition to directing you on the choice of your tasty packed lunch offered at our meeting point (packed lunch included in the “Meeting Point” and “Transfer” option), the guide will begin to illustrate the history and legends that populate Etna.
Once you get to the starting point, the real hike begins. The path is approx. 7 km for a duration of about 6 hours. It is a moderate route between old lava flows, lava cave, the famous caldera “Valle del Bove” and overflowing nature. You will reach an altitude that allows you to admire the panorama below with the Ionian Sea in the background.
On these nature trails among lava caves and native plants you will discover the true essence and secrets of the volcano. At lunch time we will do a break on a beautiful outdoor scenery, where you can have your chosen packed lunch. Being a sports excursion, we do not recommend anyone who suffers from respiratory or motor problems in general to participate in this tour.
As an expert of the territory, the guide will evaluate the volcano’s weather and geodynamic conditions and consequently will develop the route in such a way as to obtain the best profit both in terms of sport trekking and in terms of view and panorama.
